Muuuuussssssiiiiiiccccc Monday

Everybody hates Mondays....... but at least you have Music Monday to look forward too! Hopefully we can provide you with a new band or song to help you get through the drudgery that Mondays provide. I guess one way to look at it is that the weekend is getting closer! So lets kick off this hopefully strange week with Music Monday

This week we are going to spotlight Yeasayer!
So do you guys like "Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel"??
Yea I would prob have said what the shit are you talking about too but this is exactly how Yeasayer band members Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Anand Wilder describe their sounds.
I think their sound is pretty epic and can be compared to Passion Pit or Miike Snow with a little more funk in their rhythms. Yeasayer first came together in 2007 a year that can be remebered for Bob Barker airing his last episode of Price is Right, man is a legend. Yeasayer hit the ground running with their first single, a double sided a track of Sunrise and 2080 , which are two my favorite songs that come from Yeasayer. More of their notable tracks from this amazing band is Ambling Alp and O.N.E., which has a more electronic dance feel and has become a favorite to be remixed. Their popularity has skyrocket over the past couple years and has actually awarded them the title of Most Blogged about Band in 2010 (The Hype Machine). So here is to spreading the word in 2011!

All in all this band is epic and just has a very fun feel through the eclectic use of noise makers to create their complex and happy beats. I cant wait to hear more from this band and hopefully get to see them when they swing through the states.

Here is a link to their Myspace page for any more info you want: Yeasayer

Hope your Monday has gotten a better and you can Stay Strange all week with the sounds of Yeasayer.
Until the Future...... Stay Strange
Wombat Wednesday will be here soon enough

Family Fryday

Hello yall how we all doin' today?

This is arial font. What font would you like me to use??? I think arial is pretty standard so let's have it.

I am proud to announce that this is the first inaugural FAMily Friday. As many of you may know, Simply Anti prides itself on the artists and athletes that keeps the funky alive. Our culture is resonated by the colors, sounds, and actions that have deeper meanings of expressionism and individualism. THEREFORE, we are proud to dedicate every FRIDAY to the artists, musicians, and athletes that keep us running. Thanks everyone. (For those who are interested, please feel free to drop an email at simplyanti@gmail.com. Give us your story, and experience the Functional Art Movement [FAMily]).

"Everything, At Any Moment"
Our first artist is an international man of mystery. Well, maybe not international, but definitely a man of mystery. His name shall be Matthew Denton Burrows. From New York City, Matt has been a college friend of mine since the very first day of classes freshman year. Being across the hall, I would walk into his dorm room and immediately notice his peculiar style about everything he did. I wouldn't say that he was out there, but I would say that he was always on a much deeper level than anyone around him. Every doodle he made in class was extremely eccentric and provided more detail than can be seen in an entire Psychology text book. His in-class doodles gave me the assumption that he had serious talent.

Then, I learned a couple of years later that Matt was pursuing art and had already been very successful with art shows. He never ceased to amaze me, and I am extremely proud that Simply Anti has teamed up with him to produce some incredible projects. You may find much of his work and learn of his aspirations here: matthewdentonburrowsart.com. Stay tuned...

Matt's art may seem as what he calls "chaotic," but its actually the result of something that was never planned. He begins each one of his pieces with no direction, yet he draws as thoughts come to his mind. He never sketches or traces anything out. It's his stream of consciousness doing the work with a few fingers. You can find his awesome message one his site.

Stay Strange. Love, us

MUSICMUSICMUSIC Monday

This is the first of many Music Mondays. From now on, we will be posting our favorite music of the week right here on this blog. So stay in touch, stay in tune, and stay strange.

I have been listening to this same playlist over and over and over aga
in. Surfing Magazine has recently put out this playlist as the 11 new sounds for 2011. The list is filled with traditional blues and blues-rock songs that we have all forgotten about in the age of Progressive Post Modern House Electronica Musicasmoozala. These up-and-coming bands and solo artists have serious talents with their words, instruments, and overall feel for
the classic blues-rock that shall never be forgotten. You can find the playlist here:

ELEVENS

Some favorites of the list include local New Jersey legends, Parlor Mob, with their 2 biggest hits. It is awesome knowing that your local bands are making it in your favorite magazine. Here' a short of Parlor Mob's "Can't Keep No Good Boy Down:"

Another favorite on this list is by the amazing duo of Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero with Rodrigo y Gabriela. This Mexican duo have gone past any other acoustic musician with their fast-paced folk rock with latin sounds. Escuche aqui:

2011 is a fresh start

Haven't touched the blog in too long and realized that as a new upstart company its probably pretty important to keep everyone updated with the crazy world Andy and I are trying to figure out. So we have decided to give this blog a way to keep you guys in the loop with our production of new gear, our team of amazing artists, our team of amazing riders, our friends doing big things, and just in general cool happenings.

To kick off this first blog we wanted to post a video we made from a trip we took to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico which we were lucky enough to take a trip to with some friends in the early part of Jan.
